ATTS is the acronym of Associazione Torinese Tram Storici:
it is a moral nonprofit company without own employees because its operative
members are completely volunteers. The association is open to everybody who
likes the tramways, not necessarily only from Turin. ATTS is partner of GTT:
there is a specific convention that regulates the relationship. ATTS take inspiration
from similar associations which operate abroad since years succefully.
Our goals are:
Find and to conserve historic documents about Turin
tramway system, to spread and promote the idea of the historic
streetcars as unique cultural heritage for the citizens.
Promote restoration works and conservation procedures of
the vintage streetcars.
Encourage and organise manifestations and special services
with vintage streetcars
Promote in Turin the idea of a “moving
museum” (following the example of S. Francisco Market Street
Railway) thus sustaining the foundation of an historic permanent
line (integrated into the normal transport network) managed with
vintage streetcars coming also from other networks.
Collaborate with similar Italian and foreign
Associations in order to take part into partnership historical,
cultural and tourist projects.
